2220: Not vintage Taylor by any means but he's through 4-3 in the end. All through the game we expected Walsh to crack but he didn't - until the final set which 'The Power' waltzed three-zip.
2210: We're into a decider as Taylor whitewashes Walsh in that set to level up at 3-3.
2200: Er, no actually... Walsh ahead 3-2 now and he has been brilliantly consistent tonight. Taylor is in a real scrap and this is turning into a classic.
2141: Sid cries: 'The Power is back on song with the stacking' and that is three-zip and the fourth set to Taylor. 2-2 in this one. Now normal service is resumed...
2132: Well, well, well. Just when you expected Taylor to take the game by the scruff of the neck Walsh ups his game another notch. 2-1 to Walsh now and 'The Power' will have to battle like he did in the first round if he is going to progress here.
2120: Normal service resumed as Taylor levels up at 1-1.
2110: Surely not! 'The Power' loses the first set three-zip and now it's 1-1 in the second. Walsh cannot stop hitting 180s... could we be in for a shock???
2037: King closes out on 136 to go 2-1 up in the sixth set but then has no answer to Scholten's scoring and loses the next two legs to bow out. Scholten through 4-2 and it's The Power up next.
2015: A 12-darter from 'The Tripod' gives him a 2-0 advantage in the fifth set.
2008: Dramatic stuff as King bags the fourth set at the eighth attempt after struggling with his doubles yet again. He nails double one in the end after missing attempts at 18, nine, four and two... It's 2-2.
1944: King has been known as the 'Maximum Man' such is his propensity for 180s...but he's just given a new slant on the nickname. Scholten looked to have gone 1-0 up in the third set only for his dart to bounce out of the bull...allowing King to step up and nail a 170 finish. Magic.
1938: King levels things up. The double shooting hasn't been up to scratch thus far, but that's merely adding to the intrigue of the match.
1925: Scholten edges in front. Looks like being a cracker this one.
1917: King responds to going two legs behind with six perfect darts, but the seventh goes awry. He recovers to win the leg, though.
1900: As promised, we're back to take you through the evening session. We've got Phil Taylor - tipped by our betting expert Reece Killworth before the tournament - up later, but first it's Scholten v King.
1628: That was as good as it got for Warriner-Little...Manley has just seen him off 4-1. We'll be back at 1900 for the evening session.
1606: This time it's Manley who misses three doubles for the set - and Warriner-Little punishes him after a trip to the 'Madhouse'.
1553: Warriner-Little is left to curse three missed doubles to win the set - and Manley closes it out. 2-0 to the burly Cumbrian.
1540: Flying start for Manley, who is looking not particularly pretty in pink. Three-dart average of 103 and 60% checkout wins him the set.
1530: Peter Manley takes to the stage for his clash with Alan Warriner-Little. You've got to feel for the walk-on girl as Manley coerces her into a quirky 'Show Me The Way To Amarillo' walk. The crowd produce their usual reaction to Manley's arrival - a chorus of boos.
1507: Ovens gets himself on the scoreboard...but not without a scare along the way. He led 2-0 but allowed the Dazzler to get back to 2-2 before finally seeing him off. Dazzle 'serving' for the match now, though.
1456: Great stuff from 'Rassel Dazzle'. 3-0 now. Think it's fair to say Ovens is (ahem) feeling the heat now.
1437: 2-0 van der Rassel, who has a touch of the Beaton's about him in the wardrobe department today. In fact, he's showing so much chest hair that if his shirt didn't have his name on the back, you'd think it was borrowed from the Adonis.
1420: What a tournament it's been for Jan van der Rassel - after beating Colin Lloyd in round one, he's now taken a set from Denis Ovens.
1357: Tabern has a dart for the match at 3-0, 2-2 but misses. Jenkins fails to punish him with three missed darts at double eight but Tabern fails to check out with three more. Rocky then misses three more at double eight as things go a bit 'Dog and Duck'. Tabern finally wraps it up after a visit to the Madhouse. Poor performance from 'Rocky' there, he'll be hoping his Portsmouth team fare better at Anfield later this afternoon.
1347: Jenkins gives it the 'big one' after finally winning a leg. But then follows it up at the start of the next leg with a 39.
1342: This is turning into the Nightmare Before Christmas for Jenkins - he's lost nine legs on the trot and now trails 3-0. He's definitely not on his game, though to be fair to Tabern he looks in great nick.
1331: 'The Saint' is finishing like a dream and Rocky is rocked to such an extent he leaves himself a bogey 166 finish with a single 20 rather than coming down for 19s. That gives Tabern six darts at 140 and he makes no mistake. Two sets to love to the man from St Helens.
1320: Tabern takes a low-key first set. Looks to be a cracking crowd in the Ally Pally today, and just as I am about to write that they are a few pints short of finding their voices, they rise to salute a 180 from Rocky.
1310: It's 'Rocky' v 'The Saint' in today's first match as Andy Jenkins plays Alan Tabern. You have to wonder what Sylvester Stallone and Roger Moore make of it.
