Twice a runner-up at the rival BDO World Championship, Baxter stepped up to the PDC ranks in 2002 but has yet to make the same impact at the Circus Tavern.

'The Rocket' - one of the fastest throwers on the circuit - remains one of the highest ranked players without a major title to his name and has earned a reputation as someone who can't quite deliver when the pressure is really on.

He has twice reached the semis of the World Matchplay, while he was also runner-up at the Desert Classic in 2002.

He will be disappointed with his 2006 results, although his quarter-final run at the World Matchplay will give him hope.
