Nicknamed 'One Dart' on account of his usually clinical finishing, Manley is also labelled with the tag of perennial bridesmaid at the Circus Tavern.

Last season's defeat to Phil Taylor was his third in the World Championship final, the others having come in the 1999 and 2002 events (both at the hands of his old foe Taylor).

Manley's 2003 Las Vegas Desert Classic victory helped him claim the world number one spot. That has since been relinquished, although he did show some of his best form to reach the last four of this season's World Grand Prix.

One of the game's real characters, Manley has been involved in his fair share of controversy over the years and has enjoyed a fierce rivalry with Taylor, with fans often taking against the Cumbrian and booing his entrance.
