Lawson is one of the new brigade of West Indies fast bowlers seeking to make a big impact at the World Cup. Despite only making his Test and ODI debuts in 2002, Lawson has impressed with his pace and movement and has been tipped for a very bright future.
In the recently concluded two-match series against minnows Bangladesh, Lawson grabbed the man-of-the-series award primarily for his second-Test return of six wickets for three runs.
