Fast-tracked into the West Indies team during his debut first-class season in 1997 on the recommendation of the late Malcolm Marshall, the right-arm pace bowler has taken five years to claim a permanent place.
He emerged from a host of contenders as the spearhead of the attack following the retirement of Curtly Ambrose and Courtney Walsh.
Similar to Walsh in method and pace - delivering
with a high, chest-on action and depending on movement off the seam.
If he can keep the ball pitched up during the World Cup he should impress.
