The old stager is back for one last crack at the World Cup.
England have flirted with different wicketkeepers in recent times but they have consistently reverted to the tried-and-trusted Stewart.
The reason why is simple.
Even at such an advanced stage of his career, Stewart remains a batsman of world-class ability and whilst his glovework continues to match or even eclipse that of his
young rivals, there seems little point in dropping him. Will want to banish the memories of his last World Cup when, as captain, England suffered a humiliating early exit after a crushing defeat by India.
Had a more than respectable Ashes series, putting off almost constant speculation about an international retirement.
