CRICKET WORLD CUP ENGLAND
Picture Hoggard - struggling for his best form.

MATTHEW HOGGARD

Born: 31.12.76
One-day internationals: 20
Batting: Right Hand (Avge: 3.33)
Bowling: Right Hand Fast Medium (Avge: 30.25)
Catches: 3

Endured a miserable time towards the end of last summer that spilled over into the Ashes series.

Before that spell Hoggard had seemingly taken to international cricket like a duck to water, and England need him to snap out of his slump soon.

Nasser Hussain and coach Duncan Fletcher have shown great faith in his ability, but the seam bowling is rapidly becoming a problem area for England.

Hoggard is good enough to carry the attack, but it is some time since he has shown it.

Showed signs of recovering his form in the final Ashes Test in Sydney, and will hope to carry that into the World Cup if selected to start.
