A former skipper of the side, 33-year-old Maurice Odumbe is an experienced middle-order batsman who can bowl a bit. In 50 ODIs he has scored nine half-centuries and is a veteran of the 1996 World Cup – when he scored 50 against Australia – and the 1999 World Cup, where he earned the Man of the Match award for a knock of 82 against Sri Lanka.
Usually called upon to bowl a couple of overs of off-spin, he has taken 30 one-day international wickets.
