Another wicketkeeper, 21-year-old Stefan Swanepoel is locked in a battle for the gloves with Melt van Schoor and Morne Karg.
Although van Schoor is currently the man in possession Swanepoel has done his chances no harm in his three ICC Trophy games, scoring a fine 64 as an opener against Gibraltar.
Whether he has done enough to take the gloves remains to be seen, but he provides an able deputy to his more experienced rivals.
