CRICKET WORLD CUP BANGLADESH
Picture Islam - likely to open the attack. (Allsport)

MANJURAL ISLAM

Born: 07.11.79
One-day internationals: 26
Batting: Left Hand (Avge: 7.00)
Bowling: Left Hand Fast Medium (Avge: 53.05)

One of the stars of Bangladesh cricket, Manjural Islam, also known as Monju, is a left-arm pace bowler who bowls a good line and length.

Usually opening the attack, he had a steady 1999 World Cup until, like Khaled Mahmud, the Australians took him apart.

But although he has taken just 19 wickets in 26 one-day internationals he offers good variety in the attack and will benefit from the experience in the last World Cup.
