Situated in the driest part of Kingston, Sabina Park long held a reputation for hard, fast pitches. But, as with so many grounds around the world, the life seems to have disappeared from the Sabina Park square, and the pitches are far slower than they once were.

The old ground has undergone extensive redevelopment in anticipation of the World Cup, with the capacity set to top 15,000. The bulk of those will be in the imposing and impressive George Headley Stand, facing the stunning Blue Mountain backdrop.

Sabina Park has witnessed many great moments - notably Garry Sobers 365 not out, that stood for many years as the highest individual Test innings - but its undoubted low point was the first-day abandonment of a 1998 Test against England due to an unsafe pitch.
