commentary: zimbabwe v ireland
Jeremy Bray not out 115.
By Dave Tickner
Ireland (221 for nine) tied with Zimbabwe (221 all out)
Ireland's first World Cup game will go down as one of the greatest ever. Both teams will look back and feel they should have won it having blown great positions along the way. Spare a thought for Matsikenyeri, who played quite beautifully for his unbeaten 73 but couldn't get bat on ball from the final delivery.
Over 50: Matsikenyeri misses the final ball, O'Brien takes, runs up the other end and runs out Rainsford who had set off in pursuit of an unlikely winning run before turning back, and the game ends in a tie! Astonishing.
Over 49.5: Astonishing scenes! Matsikenyeri hits the ball into the air. Johnston almost takes an amazing catch, and then almost runs out Matsikenyeri. Scores are level. One ball to go.
Over 49.4: Rainsford gets a single down the ground, and Ireland may regret allowing him to hit to cover for a single. Three from two balls.
Over 49.3: Matsikenyeri almost chips a catch straight to midwicket, but takes the single. Four to win from three balls.
Over 49.2: A short ball is cut away, and Matsikenyeri gets two more. Five from four.
Over 49.1: Matsikenyeri gets it through cover for two runs. Seven to win.
White bowling the final over.
Over 49: Rainsford is the last man in, but he won't be on strike. Two wickets, no runs - what an over for Ireland.
Zimbabwe 213/9 (RR: 4.35): Matsikenyeri 66* (71), Rainsford 0* (0)
Zimbabwe need 9 runs to win from 6 balls at 9.00 runs per over.

C Mpofu run out 0 (5)
Carnage here! Mpofu hits his fifth ball straight to Johnston. Sets off on a pointless single, gets sent back and the ninth wicket is down, with nine needed off the final over!
Mpofu is the new batsman for Zimbabwe.

P Utseya c Morgan b O'Brien 1 (3)
Rank full-toss, and Utseya hammers it straight to Morgan in the covers! What a game! Should have been four, instead it's a wicket.
Johnston and Botha have both bowled out. Kevin O'Brien back into the attck.
Over 48: Utseya scrambles a single from the fifth ball of the over. Matsikenyeri can't get anything fro mthe sixth, and this is tense again.

GB Brent lbw b Botha 3 (12)
Could it be... Brent blocks two balls and then traps Brent in front of leg stump to give Ireland renewed hope here.
Over 47: Matsikenyeri works the ball to leg for a single as Kevin O'Brien fumbles the ball and loses the run-out chance. Brent gets a safer single next ball, but Johnston ends a fine spell with two good yorkers to keep Matsikenyeri down that end.
Zimbabwe 212/6 (RR: 4.51): Matsikenyeri 66* (70), Brent 3* (9)
Zimbabwe need 10 runs to win from 18 balls at 3.33 runs per over.

Zimbabwe need 12 runs to win from 24 balls at 3.00 runs per over.
Botha is back into the attack.
Over 45: Huge appeal for caught-behind, but it's bat on pad and Brent survives. Johnston doesn't even appeal. Brent plays and misses again two balls later. Brent takes a single off the last ball of the over, and Ireland probably aren't too disappointed about that.
Zimbabwe 208/6 (RR: 4.62): Matsikenyeri 64* (61), Brent 1* (6)
Zimbabwe need 14 runs to win from 30 balls at 2.80 runs per over.

B Taylor run out (McCallan) 24 (40)
Massive wicket, but hugely fortunate. Taylor eases down the ground for one, and then Matsikenyeri hammers down the ground for four to bring up 200 for Zimbabwe. He then tries to repeat the shot, and McCallan inadvertently diverts the ball onto the stumps with Taylor stranded.
Over 43: Taylor hits down the ground for a single, and Matsikenyeri adds a brace of twos and a leg-bye. A sloppy overthrow gives Taylor a single, and Matsikenyeri works into the legside for two more.

Zimbabwe need 24 runs to win from 42 balls at 3.43 runs per over.

Zimbabwe need 24 runs to win from 42 balls at 3.43 runs per over.
Kevin O-Brien is into the attack to try and make something happen.
Over 42: Taylor pushes down the ground for a single to bring up the 50 partnership. Matsikenyeri sweeps to fine-leg and scampers back for a second run and has to dive full-length to make his ground. The next ball Matsikenyeri hits down the ground, and Bray fumbles a catching chance and spills the ball over the boundary as well. That could be decisive.
Zimbabwe 189/5 (RR: 4.50): Matsikenyeri 50* (53), Taylor 21* (37)
Zimbabwe need 33 runs to win from 48 balls at 4.13 runs per over.

McCallan back into the attack.
Over 41: Taylor whacks the first ball of Johnston's over back past the bowler for four, and he gets a single to third-man to follow. Matsikenyeri chops the ball to third-man for another single, and Taylor works to leg for another single to end the over.
Zimbabwe 182/5 (RR: 4.44): Matsikenyeri 44* (48), Taylor 20* (36)
Zimbabwe need 40 runs to win from 54 balls at 4.44 runs per over.
Over 40: Matsikenyeri gets a single down the ground, and Taylor gets a lucky boundary with a thin edge that gives the keeper up to the stumps no chance. No luck for Botha and Ireland there. Taylor hits down the ground for a single.
Zimbabwe 175/5 (RR: 4.38): Matsikenyeri 43* (47), Taylor 14* (31)
Zimbabwe need 47 runs to win from 10 overs at 4.70 runs per over.

Zimbabwe need 53 runs to win from 11 overs at 4.82 runs per over.
Johnston is back into the attack, and his team desperately need him to pick up a wicket.
Over 38: Matsikenyeri is doing a fine job here, getting four more with a crisp drive through the covers. Another drive gets a single for Matsikenyeri, and Taylor hits down the ground for another.
Zimbabwe 169/5 (RR: 4.45): Matsikenyeri 42* (45), Taylor 9* (21)
Zimbabwe need 53 runs to win from 12 overs at 4.42 runs per over.
Over 37: Matsikenyeri hits through mid-on, and with the fielder up in the ring he gets four for that. Good batting, and clever placement. Matsikenyeri clips to leg for a single from ball five.

Zimbabwe need 59 runs to win from 13 overs at 4.54 runs per over.

Matsikenyeri is having treatment on an ankle injury, and there's a bit of strapping going on there.
Over 35: Langford-Smith starts with a wide, Matsikenyeri pushes into the legside for a scampered single, and Taylor gets another from the final ball of the over. Good comeback from Langford-Smith after starting with a wide.
Zimbabwe 158/5 (RR: 4.51): Matsikenyeri 32* (35), Taylor 8* (13)
Zimbabwe need 64 runs to win from 15 overs at 4.27 runs per over.
Langford-Smith back into the attack.

Zimbabwe need 68 runs to win from 16 overs at 4.25 runs per over.
Drinks. What a finish we'll have here. Hard to pick a winner from this one, but Zimbabwe have two of their most-experienced campaigners at the crease.
Over 33: Matsikenyeri cuts hard and gets four from a quality shot as Rankin bangs it in short. He tries to repeat the shot next ball, but makes no contact as the ball gets big on the diminutive Zimbabwe batsman and flies through to the keeper. Matsikenyeri clips through midwicket for three runs. Taylor gets a single on the offside from the final ball of the over.
Zimbabwe 147/5 (RR: 4.45): Matsikenyeri 25* (28), Taylor 5* (8)
Zimbabwe need 75 runs to win from 17 overs at 4.41 runs per over.
Over 32: Matsikenyeri gets a single down the ground, and Taylor tries but fails to run himself out by calling for a crazy single two balls later. He's sent back and no harm done. Taylor does get good contact on the final ball of the over, lofting it over mid-off for four runs. Good shot.
Zimbabwe 139/5 (RR: 4.34): Matsikenyeri 18* (24), Taylor 4* (6)
Zimbabwe need 83 runs to win from 18 overs at 4.61 runs per over.
Over 31: There's a slip in as Ireland go for wickets. Matsikenyeri gets a single from the fourth ball of the over, and Taylor leaves the last two balls. Good comeback from Rankin.
Zimbabwe 134/5 (RR: 4.32): Matsikenyeri 17* (22), Taylor 0* (2)
Zimbabwe need 88 runs to win from 19 overs at 4.63 runs per over.

Zimbabwe need 89 runs to win from 20 overs at 4.45 runs per over.

E Chigumbura c Bray b McCallan 4 (9)
Matsikenyeri gets a single down the ground, and Chigumbura picks up a couple of twos with well-placed shots into the legside. But then madness takes over, and the experienced Chigumbura chips a catch to Bray at mid-on and Ireland celebrate. What a finish in prospect here.
Over 29: Chigumbura is beaten by his first delivery, and then blocks his nest four to give White a wicket-maiden.
Zimbabwe 128/4 (RR: 4.41): Matsikenyeri 15* (16), Chigumbura 0* (5)
Zimbabwe need 94 runs to win from 21 overs at 4.48 runs per over.
Chigumbura is the new batsman for Zimbabwe.

V Sibanda hit wicket b White 67 (84)
Massive wicket for Ireland, as Sibanda goes back to the offspinner, but goes back too far and treads on his stumps. Fine innings, strange end.
Over 28: Sibanda gets a single, and Matsikenyeri hammers a massive six down the ground. Runs required down to double figures after another seven-run over.
Zimbabwe 128/3 (RR: 4.57): Sibanda 67* (83), Matsikenyeri 15* (16)
Zimbabwe need 94 runs to win from 22 overs at 4.27 runs per over.
Over 27: Sibanda gets two with a force through the covers off the back foot, and gets another single with a drive down the ground. Matsikenyeri makes it a good over for Zimbabwe with a sweetly driven four through the covers.
Zimbabwe 121/3 (RR: 4.48): Sibanda 66* (82), Matsikenyeri 9* (11)
Zimbabwe need 101 runs to win from 23 overs at 4.39 runs per over.
White is into the attack for Ireland.
Over 26: Sibanda gets a single down the ground, and then Matsikenyeri hammers a fearful blow down the ground for four to ease the pressure. Both men add singles to make it a good over for the team in red.
Zimbabwe 114/3 (RR: 4.38): Sibanda 63* (77), Matsikenyeri 5* (10)
Zimbabwe need 108 runs to win from 24 overs at 4.50 runs per over.
Over 25: Johnston has brought a slip in for the new batsman, and Matsikenyeri is beaten outside off stump by the Ireland skipper. It's another maiden over, and the actual rate and required rate cross over agian. Pressure on Zimbabwe.
Zimbabwe 107/3 (RR: 4.28): Sibanda 61* (75), Matsikenyeri 0* (6)
Zimbabwe need 115 runs to win from 25 overs at 4.60 runs per over.
Over 24: All of a sudden Zimbabwe are panicking, and Matsikenyeri is almost run out without facing a ball after getting himself stranded in mid-pitch trying to take a single that isn't there. Kevin O'Brien's throw isn't the bext though, and McCallan can't gather. But it's a wicket-maiden for McCallan, and the pressure back on the chasing team.
Zimbabwe 107/3 (RR: 4.46): Sibanda 61* (75), Matsikenyeri 0* (0)
Zimbabwe need 115 runs to win from 26 overs at 4.42 runs per over.

SC Williams c Rankin b McCallan 14 (13)
Williams' bafflingly frantic innings comes to a predictable end as he skies an attempted drive against the offspinner and succeeds only in giving mid-on a simple catch. Game on.
Over 23: Williams is in a hurry. He hammers a cut shot through point for four, and adds another two with a hearty whack. A pull gets a single to end the over.
Zimbabwe 107/2 (RR: 4.65): Sibanda 61* (71), Williams 14* (11)
Zimbabwe need 115 runs to win from 27 overs at 4.26 runs per over.
Over 22: Sibanda bunts down the ground for a single, and then Williams gets a huge slice of luck as he backs away to cut the ball off middle-and-leg and gets a thin edge that just misses the stumps and runs away for four. The next ball Williams skies high into the air but he finds safety and gets another lucky two. A push through the covers gets a single, but he's used up a couple of lives there.
Zimbabwe 100/2 (RR: 4.55): Sibanda 61* (71), Williams 7* (5)
Zimbabwe need 122 runs to win from 28 overs at 4.35 runs per over.

Zimbabwe 92/2 (RR: 4.38): Sibanda 60* (69), Williams 0* (1)
Zimbabwe need 130 runs to win from 29 overs at 4.48 runs per over.
Williams is the new batsman for Zimbabwe.
WICKET!
CJ Chibhabha c Langford-Smith b Johnston 12 (36)
Sibanda works the ball to leg for a single, but Chibhabha can't get anything from the next two balls. The fourth ball of the over is clipped away for a couple of runs, but Chibhabha then toe-ends the next ball straight to Langford-Smith, and a rather painful innings comes to an end.
Over 20: Sibanda drives a long half-volley back past Botha for a classy boundary. He pushes a no-ball into the covers for a single, and Chibhabha tucks a stray delivery into the legside for a couple more. A good over for Zimbabwe, but Chibhabha still doesn't look too convincing and is beaten by the final ball of the over.
Zimbabwe 89/1 (RR: 4.45): Sibanda 59* (68), Chibhabha 10* (32)
Zimbabwe need 133 runs to win from 30 overs at 4.29 runs per over.
Over 19: Sibanda goes to 50 with a pulled four through mid-on, and gets a single next ball. Chibhabha then guides to third-man and comes back for a very risky second run, and is only spared by the third umpire after a number of replays. Very, very close.
Zimbabwe 81/1 (RR: 4.26): Sibanda 54* (63), Chibhabha 8* (30)
Zimbabwe need 141 runs to win from 31 overs at 4.55 runs per over.
Sibanda 50: 62 balls, 8 x 4s
Over 18: Good stuff from Botha, building pressure and conceding just a single, pushed into the covers by Sibanda.
Zimbabwe 74/1 (RR: 4.11): Sibanda 49* (60), Chibhabha 6* (27)
Zimbabwe need 148 runs to win from 32 overs at 4.63 runs per over.
Over 17: Chibhabha continues to struggle, missing an attempted pull and letting the next ball go through to the keeper. But two balls later he eases the pressure with a good-looking cut shot that races to the boundary and that should make him feel better. So he then plays and misses at the next one. Just the boundary from that over.
Zimbabwe 73/1 (RR: 4.29): Sibanda 48* (55), Chibhabha 6* (26)
Zimbabwe need 149 runs to win from 33 overs at 4.52 runs per over.
Drinks break. Fascinatingly poised here, unlike the mismatch between Sri Lanka and Bermuda. Still anyone's game here in Jamaica, with Sibanda looking very much the key man for Zimbabwe.
Over 16: Good pressure from Ireland, pouncing on everything in the field to help Botha complete a maiden over and send the required rate up to 4.50.
Zimbabwe 69/1 (RR: 4.31): Sibanda 48* (55), Chibhabha 2* (20)
Zimbabwe need 153 runs to win from 34 overs at 4.50 runs per over.
Ireland take the third powerplay.
Over 15: Sibanda gets the ball to third-man for a single, but the becalmed Chibhabha can't add anything from the last five balls.
Zimbabwe 69/1 (RR: 4.60): Sibanda 48* (49), Chibhabha 2* (20)
Zimbabwe need 153 runs to win from 35 overs at 4.37 runs per over.
Langford-Smith is out of the attack, replaced by captain Johnston.
Over 14: Chibhabha finally gets off the mark from his 12th delivery, and these two batsmen are able to add four more singles from Botha's medium-pace.
Zimbabwe 68/1 (RR: 4.86): Sibanda 47* (48), Chibhabha 2* (15)
Zimbabwe need 154 runs to win from 36 overs at 4.28 runs per over.
Over 13: Langford-Smith starts his over with a wide, but the next one is on a better line and left by Sibanda. The next ball is a touch legside, and Sibanda clips it through square-leg for four runs, and he's looking dangerous here.Meanwhile, Langford-Smith has hurt his right calf and there's a delay for treatment. He's okay to continue, and completes the over without incident.
Zimbabwe 63/1 (RR: 4.85): Sibanda 45* (45), Chibhabha 0* (11)
Zimbabwe need 159 runs to win from 37 overs at 4.30 runs per over.
Over 12: Sibanda misses an attempted cut at Botha's first ball, but heaves the next ball over midwicket for two runs. A late cut earns Sibanda a single. Chibhabha still cannot get off the mark as he plays out the over.
Zimbabwe 58/1 (RR: 4.83): Sibanda 41* (39), Chibhabha 0* (11)
Zimbabwe need 164 runs to win from 38 overs at 4.32 runs per over.
Change of bowling, Botha replaces Rankin.
Over 11: Sibanda guides to third-man for four runs with the fielder too square to cut that off. Sibanda cuts hard to the square third-man for a single, and Chibhabha is then tempted into playing at a ball wide of off stump. He makes no contact, fortunately for Zimbabwe.
Zimbabwe 55/1 (RR: 5.00): Sibanda 38* (36), Chibhabha 0* (8)
Zimbabwe need 167 runs to win from 39 overs at 4.28 runs per over.
Ireland take the second powerplay straight away.
Over 10: Rankin drops short, and Sibanda swivels on the back foot and smashes it through midwicket for four. Shot! The next ball is short again, and Sibanda goes over square-leg this time and gets three more. Chibhabha blocks the last three balls of the over.
Zimbabwe 50/1 (RR: 5.00): Sibanda 33* (32), Chibhabha 0* (6)
Zimbabwe need 172 runs to win from 40 overs at 4.30 runs per over.
Over 9: Sibanda pushes into the legside for a single, and Chibhabha finally gets some strike. Langford-Smith bowls a wide, but there are just the two runs from that over.
Zimbabwe 43/1 (RR: 4.78): Sibanda 26* (29), Chibhabha 0* (3)
Zimbabwe need 179 runs to win from 41 overs at 4.37 runs per over.
Over 8: Sibanda goes on the attack, getting a streaky four with a thick inside edge to fine-leg and then thumping another boundary down the ground and a third in the over through cover. Throw in a wide and a single, and it's an excellent over for Zimbabwe, and a poor one for Rankin.
Zimbabwe 41/1 (RR: 5.13): Sibanda 25* (26), Chibhabha 0* (0)
Zimbabwe need 181 runs to win from 42 overs at 4.31 runs per over.
Over 7: Sibanda gets a single from the final delivery of Langford-Smith's tidy over.
Zimbabwe 27/1 (RR: 5.20): Sibanda 12* (20), Chibhabha 0* (0)
Zimbabwe need 195 runs to win from 43 overs at 4.53 runs per over.
Over 6: Chibhabha is the new batsman, with that wicket falling from the last ball of an extraordinary over.
Zimbabwe 26/1 (RR: 4.33): Sibanda 11* (14), Chibhabha 0* (0)
Zimbabwe need 196 runs to win from 44 overs at 4.45 runs per over.
WICKET!
T Duffin c NO'Brien b Rankin 12 (22)
Astonishing scenes, as Duffin offers two regulation chances - one to keeper O'Brien and one to Morgan at slip - that are both dropped. Duffin fuly offers another, and this time O'Brien holds on to prevent Rankin pulling his hair out.
Over 5: Duffin gets a single, and Langford-Smith then bowls a wide. Sibanda adds another single, and Duffin crashes a drive to deep point for another from the last ball.
Zimbabwe 26/0 (RR: 5.20): Duffin 12* (16), Sibanda 11* (14)
Zimbabwe need 196 runs to win from 45 overs at 4.35 runs per over.
Over 4: Sibanda gets a thick edge to third-man where McCallan lets itthrough his legs for four runs. The next ball is thumped past Rankin for two more, and Sibanda is gets a single from a short ball that loops off the shoulder of the bat and just out of the reach of Porterfield at backward-point. A wide down the legside follows as rankin fails to adjust his line to the left-handed Duffin, who gets the next ball into the legside for a quick single. The final ball of the over is driven hard down the ground by Sibanda, but Rankin gets down well to field in his followthrough.
Zimbabwe 22/0 (RR: 5.40): Duffin 10* (13), Sibanda 10* (9)
Zimbabwe need 200 runs to win from 46 overs at 4.35 runs per over.
Over 3: Langford-Smith bowls a wide down the legside, and Sibanda gets a couple of runs with a clip behind square on the legside. Sibanda wanders across his stumps to get the ball legside for another single. Duffins swings and misses at an attempted drive, and that over ended rather better than it started for Ireland.
Zimbabwe 13/0 (RR: 4.33): Duffin 9* (12), Sibanda 3* (6)
Zimbabwe need 209 runs to win from 47 overs at 4.45 runs per over.
Over 2: Duffin gets another classy boundary with a firm drive into the gap at extra-cover that again makes rapid progress to the fence. The final ball of the over thuds into the pads. Rankin appeals, but it's come off a big inside edge.
Zimbabwe 9/0 (RR: 4.50): Duffin 9* (8), Sibanda 0* (3)
Zimbabwe need 213 runs to win from 48 overs at 4.44 runs per over.
Boyd Rankin will share the new ball. He's tall. Officially 6'7", but looks even taller to me.
Over 1: Duffin gets off the mark in style with a thumping square drive that races to the fence. The next ball finds the outside edge but bounces short of Botha at first slip and Duffin gets a single. Langford-Smith gets some late swing to beat Sibanda, but he solidly blocks the other two deliveries.
Zimbabwe 5/0 (RR: 5.00): Duffin 5* (3), Sibanda 0* (3)
Zimbabwe need 217 runs to win from 49 overs at 4.43 runs per over.
Langford-Smith to bowl the first over of the innings.
The Ireland players are back out on the field, followed by Zimbabwe's opening batsmen Terrence Duffin and Sibanda.
Ireland: 221 for nine (50 overs)
Zimbabwe need 222 to win at 4.44 runs per over
Ireland have got way beyond what Zimbabwe would have wanted, and it's a very good score on a pitch that offers assistance to all the bowlers. Should be a cracking run-chase with both teams in with a winning chance.
Over 50: An entertaining last over, with some lusty blows from Bray and Langford-Smith, and Bray has played a masterful innings to help his side up to a more-than competitive total.
Ireland 221/9 (RR: 4.42): Bray 115* (137)
WICKET!
D Langford-Smith c Taylor b Mpofu 15 (17)
The last over yields nine useful runs before Langford-Smith skies the final ball of the over high into the sky and gives Taylor a simple catch.
Over 49: Bray drives through the covers for two runs, and works the next ball to midwicket for another couple. Bray dabs the third ball to third-man and again runs hard to get back for the second run. A thump down the ground gets a single for Bray, and Langford-Smith then heaves a slog-sweep over Chigumbura at deep square-leg, who completely misjudges the flight of the ball, falls down and has to watch the ball trickle over the ropes for four as the Irish fans laugh.
Ireland 212/8 (RR: 4.19): Bray 112* (135), Langford-Smith 9* (13)
Rainsford is back into the attack for a final over.
Over 48: Bray carves the ball to third-man for a boundary to bring upIreland's first World Cup century. Fantastic innings from Bray, who has been there since the start. He adds another single from the next ball, and Langford-Smith brings up Ireland's 200 with a drive to deep point. Bray gets a single from the final ball of the over to keep the strike.
Ireland 201/8 (RR: 4.19): Bray 105* (131), Langford-Smith 5* (11)
Bray 100: 129 balls, 10 x 4s, 2 x 6s
Over 47: Bray gets a single, and Langford-Smith gets two with a sweep. A top-edge for a single gives Bray strike for the last ball of the over, and he pushes it to cover for a single to reach 99.
Ireland 194/8 (RR: 4.13): Bray 99* (127), Langford-Smith 4* (9)
Over 46: Singles apiece from the first two balls of the over, and Bray then flicks the next ball beautifully over midwicket for a boundary. He gets a single to go to 97 on his first World Cup appearance.

T Johnston run out (Williams/Mpofu) 20 (24)
Bad end to a good over for Ireland. Johnston clips to leg and puts pressure on the fielder. Chibhabha duly fumbles and Johnston gets a second. The next ball is down the legside, and a gift for Johnston who flicks the ball very fine to the boundary. Mpofu then gets away with a ball wide of the offside tramline, Ian Gould keeping his arms by his side. Johnston clubs the next ball down the ground for a single. Bray drives imperiously through extra-cover for a boundary four, but then mistimes an attempted cut shot and fails to respond to Johnston's call for a single. Johnston has to turn and try and get back, but never stands a chance and is a yard short of his ground when Mpofu sends Williams' throw onto the stumps.
Mpofu is back into the attack.
Over 43: Johnston blocks his first two balls and then eases down the ground for a single. Bray blocks the last ball of Utseya's excellent spell.
Ireland 171/6 (RR: 3.98): Bray 87* (119), Johnston 13* (20)
The players are back on the field after that rain delay, with Utseya to continue his over.
The rain has stopped, and play will hopefully resume in about 10 minutes. That's around 1745 GMT, 1245 local time.
Rain Stopped Play
Hopefully this will be just a temporary delay in Jamaica. The rain isn't too heavy, but more covers are coming out to cover the square here.
Over 42.2: Bray gets a single down the ground, but the rain starts to get heavier and forces the players off the field.
Ireland 170/6 (RR: 4.02): Bray 87* (118), Johnston 12* (17)
Over 42: Bray gets a single, and Johnston works to leg for another. Bray adds a single with a hard sweep. Chibhabha almost takes a brilliant catch in the deep as Johnston mistimes a whack over the top, but he can't get there and the batsman gets two. Some rain starting to fall here.
Ireland 169/6 (RR: 4.02): Bray 86* (116), Johnston 12* (17)
Williams is back into the attack.
Over 41: A single apiece for Johnston and Bray from thatover, another very tidy one from Utseya.
Ireland 164/6 (RR: 4.00): Bray 84* (114), Johnston 9* (13)
Utseya is back into the attack.
Ten overs to go for Ireland. They now look like going over 200, which looked unlikely at 89/5.
Over 40: Johnston works into the legside for a single, and Bray then picks up a Brent slower ball over midwicket for four runs. He gets a single from the next ball, and Johnston gets another with a hard cut shot through cover. Brent's through his ten overs, and they've been highly effetive too.
Ireland 162/6 (RR: 4.05): Bray 83* (113), Johnston 8* (8)
Over 39: Bray gets two to bring up Ireland's 150, and then cuts a very wide ball for a single. Johnston works into the legside for a single, and Bray gets another with a force off the back foot through cover. Johnston keeps the strike with another single to end the over.

Ireland 137/5 (RR: 3.81): Bray 72* (103), White 22* (42)
Brent continuing after the break.
Drinks. These two have done a good job of rebuilding Ireland's innings, but they need to up the run-rate to get their side up to a competitive total here.
Over 35: Bray works into the legside for a single. Another reverse sweep from White, but this time straight at the fielder. He gets a single next ball with a more orthodox shot ddown the ground. But just the two off the over.
Ireland 131/5 (RR: 3.74): Bray 71* (102), White 17* (37)
Over 34: Just two singles from the first five balls of Brent's over, but an Utseya misfield allows Bray to add a third from the final ball.
Ireland 129/5 (RR: 3.79): Bray 70* (98), White 16* (35)
Over 33: Bray sweeps Utseya for a single, and White adds another with a reverse version. Bray gets another single, but it's still tidy stuff from Utseya.
Ireland 126/5 (RR: 3.82): Bray 68* (95), White 15* (32)
Over 32: Genuine edge from Bray, but with no slip in place he gets a single. Taylor can't gather stood up to the stumps after White is beaten and Ireland add a bye to the total. Bray drives to cover, but it's well stopped by Utseya. Bray helps the last ball of the over into the legside for a single.
Ireland 123/5 (RR: 3.84): Bray 66* (91), White 14* (30)
Brent is back into the attack in place of Williams.
Over 31: Bray gets a single with a sweep, and White finally gets one of his variations away as he reverse sweeps to third-man for four. Clever shot, with no fielder stationed there. White takes a quick single from the next ball, and gets an overthrow from a wild throw.
Ireland 120/5 (RR: 3.87): Bray 64* (87), White 14* (28)Over 30: Bray eases down the ground for a single, and White gets another single with his favourite sweep shot. A fine sweep gets Bray a single from the final ball of the over, and Zimbabwe are still exerting pressure here with the spinners on.
Ireland 113/5 (RR: 3.77): Bray 63* (85), White 8* (24)
Over 29: Bray gets just a single from the final ball of another Scrooge-like over from Utseya. He is so hard to get away.
Ireland 110/5 (RR: 3.79): Bray 61* (82), White 7* (21)
Over 28: Bray has now donned a wide-brimmed sunhat, further increasing the effectiveness of his uncanny Darrren Lehmann impression. Four singles come from Williams' second over as Ireland dig in.
Ireland 109/5 (RR: 3.89): Bray 60* (76), White 7* (21)
Over 27: Bray works the ball into the legside for a single from the second ball of Utseya's third over. White has played a lot of sweeps, and now tries the reverse version. He gets nothing for that, but does get a single from a top-edged sweep to end another tidy over from Zimbabwe's skipper.

Ireland 99/5 (RR: 3.96): Bray 56* (71), White 1* (8)
Over 24: Bray carves the ball to third-man for four runs to bring up a quality half-century. Bray gets a second boundary in the over with a powerful square drive into the gap behind point. Fine batting, and Bray is playing something of a lone hand here.

Spin for the first time as Prosper Utseya brings himself into the attack.
Over 22: All-rounder Andrew White is the new batsman for Ireland, but it's been an impressive bowling performance from Zimbabwe up to now.

K O'Brien c Taylor b Rainsford 10 (28)
Short and wide from Rainsford, and Bray needs no second invitation to hammer the ball through cover for a cracking boundary. The next ball is worked to leg for a single, and Bray is closing in on 50 here. Rainsford beats O'Brien with a beauty that moves late, but he overstepped. O'Brien works a short ball into the legside for a single, and Bray gets another single with a powerful cut shot to the cover sweeper. The final ball of the over tempts O'Brien into the drive, and he gets a thin edge through to Taylor who takes the simple catch.
Over 21: Mpofu beats O'Brien with a snorter that rears off a good length and flies to Taylor at head height. O'Brien is on the defensive for the rest of the over, and Mpofu completes a testing maiden.
Ireland 81/4 (RR: 3.86): Bray 41* (58), K O'Brien 9* (24)
Over 20: Bray has an ugly mow at the first ball of the over and makes nocontact. Rainsford bangs one in short from around the wicket, and Bray is on to that one nicely, pulling the ball over wide midwicket for a good boundary. Bray almost chops the final ball of the over onto the stumps, but survives.
Ireland 81/4 (RR: 4.05): Bray 41* (58), K O'Brien 9* (18)
Rainsford is back into the attack for the final over of the powerplay.
Over 19: Bray mistimes a pull into the legside, but it lands safely and he gets a lucky single. O'Brien whips to long-leg for a single. Both batsmen almost fall in the same delivery as Bray chips into the covers, just short of the fielder, and O'Brien is almost run-out as the batsmen take a risky single.
Ireland 77/4 (RR: 4.05): Bray 37* (52), K O'Brien 9* (18)
Mpofu is back into the attack after a mixed bag with the new ball.
Over 18: The first ball after drinks catches the edge of O'Brien's bat and bounces just short of slip. The next ball thuds int othe pads, but the vociferous lbw shouts are turned down. O'Brien wanders right across his stumps next ball and gets a thin edge down the legside that just beats taylor's dive and runs away for four runs. Eventful start for the over, but the last three are defended.
Ireland 74/4 (RR: 4.11): Bray 35* (49), K O'Brien 8* (15)
Drinks break. Ireland's strength is generally their batting, but their left-handed top order has been blown away by some impressive bowling from Zimbabwe, who will be delighted with the start they've made.
Over 17: Gorgeous drive through the covers from O'Brien gets full reward. Chigumbura oversteps again, and another good-looking drive is fielded in a reinforced cover region. A legside ball cannons off O'Brien's pads for a leg-bye, and the final ball of the over beats Bray's ambitious swish outside the off stump.
Ireland 70/4 (RR: 4.12): Bray 35* (49), K O'Brien 4* (9)
Over 16: Maiden over from Brent to Bray, who looks a little awkward against the straight ball but far happier against anything with a bit of a width.
Ireland 64/4 (RR: 4.00): Bray 35* (48), K O'Brien 0* (3)
The third and final powerplay is unsurprisingly taken by Zimbabwe.
Over 15: O'Brien misses an expansive attempt at a drive second ball, but he survives the over.
Ireland 64/4 (RR: 4.27): Bray 35* (42), K O'Brien 0* (3)

Ireland 63/3 (RR: 4.50): Bray 34* (41), Botha 1* (6)
Over 13: Chigumbura finally concedes a run, in his third over, and even then it's a no-ball. Bray tries to give Chigumbura the charge, but can't get bat on ball. He gets plenty on the next ball though, uppercutting a short ball from Chigumbura over the slips and all the way for six. Big shout for lbw again from the fifth ball of the over, but again Bray survives.
Ireland 60/3 (RR: 4.62): Bray 33* (39), Botha 0* (2)
Over 12: Bray somehow survives a huge lbw shout as he is trapped plumb in front. As always seems to happen in these situations, the next ball is crashed through the covers for four, but Bray is a lucky boy to still be there. Bray takes a quick single from the last ball ofthe over, and the wild throw adds another four runs for Bray and Ireland.
Ireland 53/3 (RR: 4.42): Bray 27* (32), Botha 0* (2)
Over 11: Chigumbura completes a wicket-maiden as Botha blocks his first ball and lets the second go through to the keeper. Top-class bowling from Chigumbura.

Ireland 42/1 (RR: 4.67): Bray 18* (26), Morgan 21* (22)
Elton Chigumbura is into the attack for the first time.

Ireland 42/1 (RR: 5.25): Bray 18* (20), Morgan 21* (22)
Over 7: Mpofu bowls another loose over. He has lost the plot and may need to be taken off. Both batsmen have found some form and are fighting back after their early loss. Two boundaries off the Morgan bat - one cut powerfully through point, the other races through the slip cordon. Streaky shot.
