hadlee addresses bowling concerns
Jayasuriya - next in line for New Zealand.
New Zealand bowling coach Dayle Hadlee is taking action to address concerns with his attack ahead of Tuesday's World Cup semi-final with Sri Lanka.
Former New Zealand Test bowler Hadlee saw the team concede 348 runs against Australia on Friday, the third time in succession the World Champions have posted 300-plus against the Blackcaps.
The Sri Lanka top order are in wait at Sabina Park, with Sanath Jayasuriya already having shown his potency against the Kiwi bowling attack during the New Zealand summer.
The veteran batsman averaged 45.5 in the recent five-match series between the teams, which ended in a 2-2 stalemate after the final match in Hamilton was washed out.
"As an ex-bowler who got thrashed a bit in my time you sometimes think 'where's the next ball going?" Hadlee told The Christchurch Press.
"One of the things I've stressed is don't just look at the scoreboard and think 'well, they're making a lot of runs and they're smashing me'. You may not be bowling that badly.
"One of the things we talk about is to celebrate that you've thought about what you're going to do, why and how you're going to do it and if you put the ball where you thought it had to go, regardless of the result pat yourself on the back."
