Zimbabwe need 115 runs to win from 4 overs at 28.75 runs per over.

    WICKET
    E Chigumbura lbw b Tait 27 (11)

Afirdi clean bowls Chigumbura as the big-hitter tries another huge hit but misses and is sent packing. That sure was entertaining.

    Zimbabwe 77/5 (RR: 5.13): Williams 4* (6), Chigumbura 27* (10)

Over 14: Williams and Chigumbura try as they might to knock the cover off the ball and they get it right to a degree but they need it in large amounts. Chigumbura is off to a really brisk start.

Elton Chigumbura is the new batter but Taylor will stick around and act as a runner for Matsikenyeri who has injured his ankle while running.

    WICKET
    B Taylor c Khan b Kaneria 13 (17)

Nice catch in the deep by Khan sees the end of Taylor. Perhaps the start of the Zim rot...

Over 12: Big runs for Zim as their batters tuck into the required target.
    Zimbabwe 45/3 (RR: 3.75): Matsikenyeri 18* (24), Taylor 13* (16)

Shahid Afridi is into the attack.

Over 11: Kaneria completes his broken over as Zim get straight to the chase, going after runs from the word go.
    Zimbabwe 36/3 (RR: 3.27): Matsikenyeri 10* (19), Taylor 12* (15)

The Duckworth/Lewis System has obviously been brought into the equation given all the rain and this means the Zimbabweans now need to chase a target of 193 in 20 overs. That means they need 163 more off 9.4 overs.

After a really really really long delay play is about to resume and the umpires and fielders are back on the field.

The rain is quite heavy but should not be around for too uch longer...hopefully.

Over 10.2: Taylor clubs a loosener from Kaneria off the back foot through the covers and then picks up a single down to third-man. But oh no! Here's the rain again and the covers come on. Darn.
    Zimbabwe 30/3 (RR: 2.50): Matsikenyeri 7* (18), Taylor 9* (12)
Zimbabwe need 320 runs to win from 39.4 overs at 8.12 runs per over.

    Danish Kaneria into the attack.

Pakistan to take the second powerplay.

Over 10: Matsikenyeri is all too keen to smack a leg-side delivery over mid-wicket for four but only manages to get an edge...it's four anyway. That was off the last ball of the over but before that Sami was peppering him with pace, conceding a wide too.
    Zimbabwe 25/3 (RR: 2.50): Matsikenyeri 7* (18), Taylor 4* (10)
Zimbabwe need 325 runs to win from 40 overs at 8.12 runs per over.

Over 9: Four runs in three overs - exciting stuff! Just the single for Matsikenyeri in this over as Pakistan remain on top, and will do so for some time to come no doubt.
    Zimbabwe 20/3 (RR: 2.22): Matsikenyeri 3* (12), Taylor 4* (10)
Zimbabwe need 330 runs to win from 41 overs at 8.04 runs per over.

Over 8: Taylor sees off a couple and then drives nicely for a couple of runs through the covers. He then consolidates a bit more and blocks out the rest of the over. Sami settling into a nice line for now.
    Zimbabwe 19/3 (RR: 2.37): Matsikenyeri 2* (8), Taylor 4* (8)
Zimbabwe need 331 runs to win from 42 overs at 7.88 runs per over.

Over 7: Taylor drives straight for a single leaving Matsikenyeri to see off the next five balls, he plays and misses a couple of times and might want to leave a few more before starting to play a few strokes. Get your eye in mate, you'll go far.
    Zimbabwe 17/3 (RR: 2.42): Matsikenyeri 2* (8), Taylor 2* (2)
Zimbabwe need 333 runs to win from 43 overs at 7.74 runs per over.

Over 6: Worked behind square-leg by Matsikenyeri as he gets off the mark straight away and then plays out the rest of the over while finding his feet.
    Zimbabwe 16/3 (RR: 2.66): Matsikenyeri 2* (3), Taylor 1* (1)
Zimbabwe need 334 runs to win from 44 overs at 7.59 runs per over.

Stuart Matsikenyeri is the new batter.

    WICKET
    F Kastene c Inzamam b Sami 9 (23)

A single each for Kastene and Taylor (getting off the mark) but then Inzi - in his last One-dayer ever - takes another catch at slip thanks to a silly shot from Kastene. He flashes at a wide one off the back foot and it's just no good. No timing. No anything really. A nothing shot. Goodbye Friday!

    Over 5:
    Zimbabwe 12/2 (RR: 2.40): Kastene 8* (21), Taylor 0* (0)
Zimbabwe need 338 runs to win from 45 overs at 7.51 runs per over.

Brendan Taylor is the new batsman.

    WICKET
    J Chibhabha c Inzamam b Gul 3 (8)

Kastene sees off a couple of dot balls, picks up another single and allows Chibhahbha the chance to get some balls faced under the belt. He plays out a couple but then goes for a huge blow (think he was aiming over long-on) but only gets an edge and Inzi takes a simple catch at first slip.

Over 4: Kastene picks up two more single flashing hard through point and dropping one through the covers Chibhabha gets one down the leg-side for a single of his own. Sami's line blowing hot and cold right now.
    Zimbabwe 11/1 (RR: 2.75): Kastene 7* (17), Chibhabha 3* (6)
Zimbabwe need 339 runs to win from 46 overs at 7.36 runs per over.

Over 3: Chibhabha picks up another single, Gul slips up with a no-ball, Kastene sees off a barrage of furious dot balls and then gets off the mark finally. A quick single turns into five runs as the over throws give young Kastene some bonus runs.
    Zimbabwe 8/1 (RR: 2.66): Kastene 5* (16), Chibhabha 2* (2)
Zimbabwe need 342 runs to win from 47 overs at 7.27 runs per over.

Over 2: Chibhabha gets off the mark first ball of the over leaving Kastene five balls to see off, which he does with slight difficulty having to fend off some nasty short deliveries. Nice start from Sami.
    Zimbabwe 1/1 (RR: 0.50): Kastene 0* (9), Chibhabha 1* (1)
Zimbabwe need 349 runs to win from 48 overs at 7.27 runs per over.

Mohammad Sami to share the new ball with Gul.

Over 1: Kastene makes contact once in four balls, flashing and missing a couple of times. Not a great start and still not off the mark.
    Zimbabwe 0/1 (RR: 0.00): Kastene 0* (4), Chibhabha 0* (0)
Zimbabwe need 350 runs to win from 49 overs at 7.14 runs per over.

Friday Kasteni, fresh from his first-baller on debut, is the new batter.

    WICKET
    V Sibanda c Nazir b Gul 0 (2)

Sibanda smacks a back-of-a-length delivery striaght to Nazir at point. Sadness for Zim and a really early breakthrough for Pakistan.

Umar Gul to take the new ball.

The players are out on the field again. Justice Chibhabha and Vusi Sibanda will open the batting for Zimbabwe.

    And now for the chase...

Pakistan: 349 all out (49.5 overs)
Zimbabwe need 350 to win at 7.00 runs per over

Zimbabwe have a mammoth task ahead of them if they are to win this one. They will need the likes of Taylor or Sibanda to do what Nazir did for Pakistan. Not likely though. Spot you after the break.

    Over 49.5:
Pakistan 349/10 (RR: 7.00): Kaneria 7* (4) That's it. Pakistan all out and for a mammoth total and doing the late Bob Woolmer proud.

    WICKET
    R Iftikhar c Matsikenyeri b Chigumbura 32 (16)

Iftikhar and Kaneria pick up a single each to open up the last over after which Iftikhar steps across his stumps and whips one over mid-wicket for six. Then Chigumbura throws down a horrid full-toss which is smashed over mid-wicket for another six. Great stuff! The second last ball sees Iftikhar caught in the deep, around cow-corner as three sixes in a row was not to be. Chigumbura bags another wicket.

Over 49: Pakistan's last two batsman scrape together some more runs around the ground and Kaneria takes a bouncer to the shoulder. That must of hurt and it's his bowling arm too.
    Pakistan 335/9 (RR: 6.83): Iftikhar 19* (12), Kaneria 6* (3)

Over 48: Kaneria whips one down the leg-side past the fine-leg fielder four four to get off the mark off the last ball of the over.

Danish Kaneria is the last batsman.

    WICKET
    U Gul b Chigumbura 10 (6)

Chigumbura is back into the attack.

Over 47: Ouch! Another expensive over as the Pakistani tail starts to wag. Iftikhar squeezes one down to the third-man fence and then they pick up a couple of singles around the ground. Sean Williams drops a sitter in the deep after which Gul nails one over covers which nealry goes for six but hw has to settle for a four.
    Pakistan 316/8 (RR: 6.72): Iftikhar 8* (5), Gul 9* (4)

Over 46: Gul gets off the mark off the last ball of the over as Zimbabwe have their fine-leg up in the circle and Gul paddles one past him for a nicely timed four. A bit of bad field placing there.

Umar Gul is the new batter.

    WICKET
    M Sami c Utseya b Brent 5 (10)

Zimbabwe pegging things back a bit as Brent is picked off for two singles and bowls a wide. But then Sami plays forward and chips the ball straight to a diving Utseya at square-leg. Nice fielding.

    Brent to continue...

Over 45: Mpofu ends a successful over in that he took a wicket and there were only two runs conceded. The Zimbabweans are into the Pakistani tail-enders now and must fanct bowling them out.
    Pakistan 298/7 (RR: 6.60): Iftikhar 1* (1), Sami 3* (6)

Rao Iftikhar is the new batsman.

    WICKET
    I Nazir c Matsikenyeri b Mpofu 160 (121)

    Mpofu is into the attack.

Over 44: Nazir ain't letting up as he sends another big one over cow-corner. Sami is off the mark with a couple of singles and Nazir is so very nearly caught at long-on. Alas, it is dropped...but it was some good fielding.
    Pakistan 295/6 (RR: 6.70): Nazir 160* (119), Sami 2* (2)

Mohammad Sami is the new batsman out there.

    WICKET
    S Afridi b Brent 16 (10)

Afridi goes on the sweep and is bowled around the legs thanks to a bit of a slower ball from Brent. Actually! Look at that! He was bowled in between his legs.

Over 43: Afridi launches over long-on for a six. Then the umpires decided to change the ball, it has lost a bit of colour. Then Afridi drvies for a four followed by a slog through mid-wicket for two. Expensive over again.
    Pakistan 285/5 (RR: 6.62): Nazir 152* (117), Afridi 16* (9)

    I Nazir 150: 116 balls, 14 x 4s, 7 x 6

    Brent into the attack.

    Pakistan 265/5 (RR: 6.46): Nazir 147* (113), Afridi 1* (1)

Shahid 'Boom Boom' Afridi is the new batter.

    WICKET
    Y Khan run out (Mpofu) 28 (31)

They come back for the single but Mpofu throws in hard and direct from the deep and Khan is short of his ground. Unfortunate end to a blossoming innings and some decent 'keeping from Taylor to whip the bails off quick enough.

    Mupariwa back into the attack.

Over 40: Another big over for Pakistan as Nazir nails anothersix over the ropes. It's a biggie over midwicket! Then he tickles one to third-man for a four, picks up a single and allows Khan a bit of the strike. Khan goes on the reverse sweep and wicketkeepeer Brendan Taylor puts down a sharp catch. Pakistan 238/4 (RR: 6.10): Nazir 124* (106), Khan 25* (27)

Over 38: Ouch! Mpofu comes in for some serious stick as Khan gets an edge for four after a short ball gets to big on him. Nazir then lets loose and sends a six over mid-wicket after a four through the on-side. A flurry of singles and a wide to boot make up a somewhat fruitful over for the Pakistanis.
    Pakistan 223/4 (RR: 5.86): Nazir 111* (102), Khan 23* (25)

Over 37: A pretty good returning over for Utseya sees Pakistan gather just one more run, Nazir having a bit of trouble getting the Zim skipper off the square.
    Pakistan 204/4 (RR: 5.54): Nazir 100* (99), Khan 17* (22)

Another bolwing change - Utseya back into the attack.

    Pakistan 204/4 (RR: 5.66): Nazir 100* (95), Khan 16* (20)

    I Nazir 100: 95 balls, 11 x 4s, 2 x 6 That's his second ODI career ton!

Over 33: Khan and Nazir pick Brent off four singles all around the ground. Brent looking rather ineffective for now with those little medium-pacers of his. Nazir keen to get to his ton one by one.
    Pakistan 186/4 (RR: 5.63): Nazir 95* (90), Khan 3* (7)

    Brent to continue...

Over 32: Williams fails to make a real impact with his frist over as Khan picks up a single leaving Nazir to move into the 90s with a sweet pull for four. Nazir then picks up a quick single too leaving Khan to play out the rest of the over.
