Qualifying Stage

Each team in the Qualifying Stage plays the other two teams in their pool.

Teams are awarded two points for a win, one point for a no result.

The two pool winners along with the best second-placed side will progress to the Group Stage.

The best second-placed side will be determined by

i) The team with more points;

ii) The team with higher net run-rate.

Pool A winners will be Q1 in the Group Stage.

Pool B winners will be Q2 in the Group Stage.

The best second-placed side will be Q3 in the Group Stage, unless that side is Kolkata Knight Riders; they will be Q1 with the Pool A winners Q3.

Group Stage

The top two in each group will progress to the semi-finals, the winner of one group facing the runner-up in the other.

Teams are awarded two points for a win, one point for a no result.

In the event of teams finishing on equal points during the group stage, the higher finishing position will be decided by:

(i) The team with the most number of wins;

(ii) The team with the highest net run rate;

(iii) The team with the higher number of wickets; taken per balls bowled in the group stage matches in which results were achieved;

(iv) Drawing lots.
