Sri Lanka fast bowler Thilan Thushara has been ruled out of the Test series against India due to a shoulder injury.
The left-arm paceman injured his shoulder during practice on the eve of the ongoing first Test against India in Ahmedabad and was ruled out of the match.
Thushara is now set to travel back home to recover from the injury.
"Thilan Thushara will return to Sri Lanka due to a shoulder injury and will probably not be match fit for approximately two to four weeks," a Sri Lanka Cricket statement said.
"Dilhara Fernando would be brought in as a replacement."
Thushara is likely to miss the two Twenty20 games and the five one-day internationals which follows the three Tests.
Fernando is expected to join the team in time for the second Test which starts in Kanpur on November 24.
