Former South Africa international Hall joined the county in 2007 and captained the team between 2010 and 2012.
Now 39, he has been a regular in the side's relegation-bound LV= County Championship side this season but has played a reduced role in limited-overs cricket.
Spriegel joined Northants from Surrey in 2012 and played every match of the team's successful Twenty20 campaign the following year.
David Smith, the club's chief executive, said: "These are always difficult decisions to make regarding players' futures, but they are always made in the best interests of moving the club forward over the next few years.
"The club wishes to place on record its sincere thanks to both players for their commitment throughout what has been a difficult summer for everyone connected with Northants Cricket."
