The game had looked ready to peter out but a late burst from England's bowlers meant the outcome came down to the last ball, which agonisingly fell short of Chris Jordan in the slips after a nick from Nuwan Pradeep.
England have named the same squad of 12 players and another draw can be backed at 2/1.
Joe Root was England's double centurion in the first innings at Lord's and he is 4/1 to top score this time around. Ian Bell (10/3) and captain Alastair Cook (7/2) are just ahead of him in the betting.
