Trott, hoping to return for England this summer after having to leave last winter's Ashes whitewash early following the first Test in Brisbane, could muster only eight from 22 balls for Warwickshire in his first appearance since then in first-class cricket.
He at least doubled his output from the Bears' friendly against Gloucestershire at Edgbaston.
But after rain robbed him of a second innings last week, and also wiped out the first day of three against Oxford, the number three had to watch a 170-run opening stand before he had his next chance.
It was to no avail either as he fell to student seamer Sam Weller, a teenager playing in only his second first-class fixture.
