Off-spinner Danielle Hazell believes stopping Australia all-rounder Ellyse Perry will be the key to winning the Women's Ashes.

Hazell: Stopping Perry is key

England are a win away from clinching the multi-format series, which switches to Twenty20 mode in Hobart on Wednesday.

Perry has, however, brought Australia back into the series following back-to-back one-day international wins in which she has taken centre stage.

The 23-year-old, who also plays for Australia's women's football team, hit an unbeaten 90 as Australia chased down 268 for four in the third ODI and remained alive.

England were able to subdue Perry when they won the Ashes in the on home soil in the summer, and Hazell knows doing that again over the next week will be crucial to sealing a repeat victory.

"She has played really well over this Ashes series," Hazell said.

"She is a big player for them. She batted well the other day and won the game for them.

"She is a key player and one that we've looked at and will continue to look at.

"Hopefully we can keep her quiet in the next game."

Following successive defeats Hazell denied there was any sense of panic.

"The mood's has always been really good in the camp," she said.

"When we landed in Australia we knew that they were a very good team. There's not much between us.

"That has been proved over the last couple of games and how close these next few games could be as well."
