Iain Wardlaw, Majid Haq and Gordon Goudie claimed three wickets each as Scotland bowled out their hosts for 168 at Elmwood Park in Christchurch.

And Calum MacLeod shone with the bat as his unbeaten 74 helped Scotland reach 172 for four and secure a winning start to their World Cup qualifying preparations.

Former Scotland captain Wright and former England all-rounder Collingwood were promoted to the role of joint head coaches in place of Pete Steindl last week.

Scotland face the United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, Nepal and Canada in their qualifying group, which begins on January 10.
