Pallekele: Has already seen some high T20 scores

Another venue built for the World Cup last year, Pallekele will host Pakistan, Bangladesh and New Zealand in the first round of the World Twenty20 as well as Sri Lanka's group in the Super Eight stage.

The Pallekele ground, around half-an-hour's drive from Kandy, was the first of the two World Cup new builds to be ready and has the more reliable pitch.

There have been three T20s played here before the tournament with 150-plus targets set in all three matches. Tillakaratne Dilshan scored a century here for Sri Lanka against Australia, and the Lions have won two of their three games here so should be looking forward to returning for the Super Eight stage of the tournament.
