The England all-rounder must hand over 15% of his Perth match fee for a breach of the International Cricket Council's code of conduct.

Stokes was charged with "using language or a gesture that is obscene, offensive or insulting" for his reaction to dismissing Faulkner in the 42nd over of the Australian innings.

Match referee Andy Pycroft said: "Mr Stokes' reaction was a clear breach of the code, as players are expected to respect their opponents at all times, no matter what the match situation is. This is a cornerstone of how we play the game."

Stokes' fine takes a slight gloss over a man-of-the-match performance in England's first international win all tour.

The Durham man took four wickets and scored 71 in the 57-run success, adn has since claimed his Faulkner send-off was "nothing worse than I've been getting all one-day series."

Stokes' performances in the Tests and one-dayers have been a highlight of a dismal tour, but he said: "I don't think I've nailed my position yet. Going forward I've just got to put some consistent efforts in and make sure I keep my place in the team.

"I've got that opportunity and I hope I get a few more down the line. I've just got to keep trying to put in good performances.

"I'm always competitive and I'm always up for the fight. I always want to be involved in (the key moments). I want to try and influence the result for whatever team I'm playing for."
