Delhi Daredevils were again without captain Kevin Pietersen as they suffered a 93-run defeat against Chennai Super Kings in Abu Dhabi.

Former England batsman Pietersen has yet to feature for the Daredevils in the Indian Premier League this season due to a finger injury and, in his absence, they were bowled out for 84 chasing 178.

Super Kings bowlers Ishwar Pandey (2-23), Ravindra Jadeja (2-18) and Ravi Ashwin (2-3) each claimed two wickets in a Daredevils' innings lasting 15.4 overs.

Suresh Raina earlier top scored with 54 as Chennai piled up 177-7 after opting to bat first, while Delhi left-arm seamer Jaydev Unadkat picked up 3-32.

The Daredevils have lost two of their three matches to start the season, while Chennai have won one and lost one.
