Hurricanes left-hander Ben Dunk hit 87 off 53 balls - including seven fours and three sixes - to set up a total of 209-7 batting first at Bellerive Oval.
Dunk put on an opening stand of 98 in 9.3 overs with his skipper Tim Paine (47) and the runs continued to flow throughout the 20 overs despite Brisbane seamer Cameron Gannon's 3-42.
Heat opener Luke Pomersbach launched the visitors' run chase with 60 from 32 balls but was part of a Cameron Boyce-inspired collapse that saw the visitors reduced from 50-0 to 85-5.
And there was no way back for Brisbane, who finished short on 169-8 and consequently miss out on the semi-finals.
Hobart will take on the table-topping Melbourne Stars at the MCG on February 4 for a place in the final.
