Australia's comeback gathered pace in the women's Ashes with a four-wicket win over England in the third ODI.

England women denied again

England made 268-4 after choosing to bat first at Hobart's Bellerive Oval thanks to half-centuries from Heather Knight (57) and Sarah Taylor (64).

Natalie Sciver upped the run-rate in the closing overs with 43 not out from 35 balls but still it was not enough.

Australia reached their target with three balls to spare with Ellyse Perry unbeaten on 90 from 95 balls.

Openers Nicole Bolton (31) and Meg Lanning (40) set up the run chase with an opening stand of 57 inside 10 overs and Alex Blackwell also contributed 51 from No 4.

Jenny Gunn's 3-56 helped reduce Australia to 199-6 but Perry and Erin Osborne saw them home with an unbroken seventh-wicket stand of 70 in eight overs.

Osborne hit five fours in her 25-ball 45 not out and the result - Australia's second victory in a row after losing the one-off Test and first ODI - reduces their deficit to 8-4 in the points-based Ashes format.

Three T20 matches remain, with two points available for a win in each, starting at the same venue on Wednesday. England will retain the urn with one more victory.
