The Melbourne Renegades have secured a home semi-final in the Big Bash league following a nine-wicket victory over the Stars at the MCG.
Man of the match Aaron Finch steered the home side to success with an unbeaten 67 as the Renegades chased down 146-9 with seven balls to spare.
The game was not without incident as Shane Warne took exception to Marlon Samuels' antics while bowling and gave the West Indies all-rounder a piece of his mind when he came to bat.
Things came to a head when Warne struck Samuels with the ball while throwing at the stumps culminating in Samuels' throwing his bat, before the umpires finally settled down the spat.
Samuels contributed 17 before he was forced to retire hurt after a top edge from Lasith Malinga caught him flush in the grill, an injury that saw him depart the field of play.
Opener Finch remained unbeaten from his 47 deliveries, clubbing six fours and six sixes as the Renegades ensured a home clash when the regular season concludes.
Earlier, England's Luke Wright's 29 from 22 helped the Stars reach 146 from their 20 overs. David Hussey (23), Rob Quiney (24) and James Faulkner (23) made notable contributions.
