Ambati Rayudu and Kieron Pollard's magnificent unbeaten partnership of 122 helped Mumbai Indians move level on points with Indian Premier League leaders Delhi Daredevils following an unlikely five-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Mumbai were firmly under the cosh in their pursuit of 172 after being reduced to 51 for five in the ninth over, with star man Sachin Tendulkar departing off the first ball he faced.

But Rayudu bludgeoned six fours and four sixes in his 81 not out and received support in the form of the big-hitting Pollard (52no) to lead the Indians over the line, with KP Appanna and Chris Gayle the bowlers coming under heavy fire.

Earlier, Mayank Agarwal was in supreme form, hammering six boundaries and four maximums in his unbeaten 30-ball 64 after the Challengers were put into bat.

Opener Tillakaratne Dilshan contributed a rather more sedate 47 to help Bangalore to 171 for six - a total that looked formidable until Rayudu and Pollard took centre stage.
