The downpour left the ground in Chittagong saturated, with puddles in the outfield, so umpires Kumar Dharmasena and Nigel Llong deemed play impossible after an inspection at 11am local time.
Bangladesh will go into day three on 255 for four in their first innings, with captain Mushfiqur Rahim unbeaten on 68.
