    A brilliant job as a captain on debut from Amla, centuries from Elgar and Duminy, good bowling performances from Steyn and Morkel and South Africa seal an important win in Sri Lanka to go 1-0 up in the series. Sri Lanka will have a lot to think about, but they were a bowler short after Eranga got injured on the first day. Tahir's performance will be under scrutiny as Duminy bowled better than him. Good win for South Africa.

    The visitors have dominated the first session and are just four wickets away from a big win in Sri Lanka. There are 66 overs remaining in the day's play, so time is not an issue. For Sri Lanka, Mathews is the key. If he can bat well with some support from the tail and stay out there, they can save this test and have an outside chance of winning it.
