  • New Zealand win by 9 runs D/L method

It's all over! A soggy end in Chittagong and it could be a costly one for England, who would have fancied their chances of defending the 172-6 total they posted. In the end, though, Brendon McCullum's unbeaten 16 from just six balls proved decisive as it enabled the Black Caps to edge above the required Duckworth-Lewis total before the heavens opened. England will aim to bounce back against Sri Lanka on Thursday.
  • Word from the ground...

@StocksC_cricket; 'It's chucking it down, there are no fans in the ground any more and we have no hope of getting back on. Call it off ICC.'
  • Rain returns!

Bad news for England as the rain returns and the tarpaulin sheets are dragged onto the field. New Zealand will be doing the rain dance in the pavilion. As things stand, they are through. Play must re-start by 5.23pm GMT
  • Rain has stopped!

The covers are coming off in Chittagong and the calculators are out to see if/how many overs have been lost. Stay here for updates...
  • Rain stops play!

The players sprint off the field after another Williamson boundary. The rain is coming down hard. New Zealand are sitting pretty on 52-1 after 5.2 overs and if the players do not return then the men in black have won as the par score at this stage is 43
  • Over 5 - New Zealand 47-1 (Williamson 19, McCullum 16)

Broad may have been saving himself for McCullum but it's the Kiwi skipper who claims bragging rights for now after launching Broad for two sixes and a streaky four. Those blows were interrupted by a huge flash of lightning and play may well be suspended... New Zealand are winning as things stand on Duckworth-Lewis
  • Over 4 - New Zealand 31-1 (Williamson 19, McCullum 0)

Dangerman Brendon McCullum strides to the wicket to join Williamson. Dernbach has his critics but he's started well here. His two overs costing 13 along with the wicket of Guptill. The match nicely poised
  • Guptill ct Jordan bld Dernbach 11 (9)

Breakthrough for England! Banged in by Dernbach, Guptill is beaten for pace and splices his pull shot straight up, offering a simple catch to Jordan
  • Over 3 - New Zealand 25-0 (Guptill 7, Williamson 17)

I find it very odd that Broad hasn't started with the new ball... Bresnan's opening over is an expensive one as Williamson takes him for two boundaries, one through extra cover, the other through cover point. You do not bowl short and wide to Williamson. A strong start from the Black Caps here
  • Over 2 - New Zealand 15-0 (Guptill 7, Williamson 7)

A decent over from Dernbach but the boundary is found yet again when Guptill stands up tall and drives back down the ground. England know all-too-well what Guptill is capable of after his heroics in the one-day series between the sides last summer. They'll want to see the back of him quickly
  • Over 1 - New Zealand 7-0 (Guptill 2, Williamson 5)

An excellent opening over from Ali is ruined when Jordan lets the ball through his legs in the covers and Williamson picks up four from his well-struck cut shot. Seven off it...
  • Chase is on...

Here come the players. Guptill and Williamson opening up, Ali to bowl
  • New Zealand require 173 to win at 8.61 an over

It's the highest T20 score at the ground but have England got enough? Stay tuned for the run-chase...
  • Over 20 - England 172-6 (Bopara 24, Bresnan 17)

Six! Bresnan is playing a gem here. Back in his crease he gets hold of a half-volley from Anderson and clears the sightscreen back down the ground! A decent finish from England and New Zealand will need 173 to win...
  • Over 19 - England 159-6 (Bopara 18, Bresnan 10)

Bresnan clubs back-to-back boundaries to take 10 runs off the penultimate over. Drop! He so nearly perished in pursuit of the first boundary, though, his swat over midwicket slipping out of Anderson's grasp and bobbling into the rope. One over reamaining, to be bowled by Anderson...
  • Over 18 - England 149-6 (Bopara 17, Bresnan 1)

'Thanks bro'. A nod from Brendan to Nathan after that fine over, which cost just four runs and accounted for Jordan's wicket. Bresnan is the new man in and England need a big finish here. 12 balls left...
  • Jordan ct Southee bld N McCullum 8 (6)

The brave decision to bring back McCullum's off-spin works as Jordan holes out to Southee at deep midwicket
  • Over 17 - England 145-5 (Bopara 14, Jordan 8)

Drop! What a costly moment that could be from Ronchi behind the stumps! He drops a regulation edge to let Bopara off the hook and then misses a shy at the stumps after the England right-hander had begun his walk off the pitch! Incredible! To pour salt in Southee's wounds, Bopara then dispatches the next ball for six over long-off and Jordan gets in on the act with a six of his own in the same region! Turning point...
  • Over 16 - England 130-5 (Bopara 7, Jordan 1)

The onus is once again on Bopara to get England up to a total they will be happy with. Quite what that is, I don't know! Jordan has been promoted above Bresnan in at No.7. Some Barbados-like ball-striking would be nice please Chris! Just four off Anderson's over, and the wicket of Buttler
  • Buttler bld Anderson 32 (23)

Big wicket! Anderson is in on the act yet again, bowling Buttler via the England wicketkeeper's inside edge. New Zealand celebrate, they know how important that could be
