Somerset have reached Twenty20 Cup finals day after triumphing 5-1 in a bowl-out against Lancashire.

The quarter-final at Old Trafford had been originally scheduled for Tuesday but persistent rain in the Manchester area prevented any play being possible.

The counties successfully lobbied the England and Wales Cricket Board to add a second reserve day on Thursday in the hope of playing the match after play was again washed out on Wednesday.

But the elements once again conspired to prevent any play being possible, leaving the match to be settled in a bowl-out at Old Trafford's indoor school.

Alfonso Thomas was the only player to hit the stumps with both his efforts.
