PRICE BOOKS FINAL SPOT
By Ian Gordon, PA Sport
England's Sarah Price came through strongly in the final metres to win her 50m
backstroke semi-final in a personal best 29.13secs having been well down
mid-way through the race.
But the 23-year-old Barnett Copthall swimmer did see the Games record of 29.31
she set in the heats earlier broken as Australia's Dyana Calub claimed the mark
with a time of 29.07 in the other heat.
Portsmouth's Katy Sexton also set a personal best of 29.69 but with that she
just missed a slot in tomorrow's final as did Emily Crookall-Nixon of the Ilse
of Man who was 15th overall in 32.53.
