UGANDAN JUDGE SUSPENDED
Ugandan judge David Agong has been suspended by the Amateur International
Boxing Association for "making political decisions" during Kevin Anderson's
victory over Asghar Ali Shah.
Agong has been suspended indefinitely by AIBA president Anwar Chowdhry while
referee Stephen Kofi Antwi of Ghana has been banned for two days.
Scotsman Anderson beat Pakistan fighter Shah 29-18 on points on Saturday but
Chowdhry criticised the performance of both judge and referee during the fight.
Chowdhry, from Pakistan, said: "We have a spy camera which means we can see
every blow and respond to how the judge responds.
"In the past boxing has been at risk as an Olympic sport because of problems
we have with judging and we need to ensure that the right decisions are
given."
Nine other judges have also been warned for their poor performances.
