England secured bronze medals in the men's and the women's badminton doubles on day 10 of the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.
Aamir Ghaffir suffered disappointment as he lost his bronze-medal singles match but Scotland's Susan Hughes triumphed in the women's singles.
Gail Emms, who partners Nathan Robertson in tomorrow's mixed doubles final, warmed up for that game as she and Donna Kellogg overcame Indian duo Trupti Murgunde and Saina Nehwal 21-14 21-9 to claim bronze.
However, Kellogg admitted that, bearing in mind England's failure to defend their team title, this has not been her greatest week.
"I've been very disappointed with some of our performances this week," she admitted.
"A medal is great here but obviously we wanted a different colour.
"It's hard when you don't play as you would have liked but it shows you that we need to keep working hard."
Hughes took Scotland to within two medals of the 30-medal tally secured in Manchester four years ago with a tense 21-5 13-21 21-19 victory in this morning's women's badminton bronze medal play-off.
In the men's doubles Robert Blair and Anthony Clark shook off any hangovers from their semi-final defeat to claim third spot on the podium.
The English pair had no problems against Ashley Brehaut and Travis Denney of Australia, winning the match 21-6 21-14.
However, England's Aamir Ghaffar tried to put a brave face on defeat as India's Chetan Amand won a close-fought encounter to take men's singles bronze.
"This was my first major event and I feel totally drained," said Ghaffar.
"I'm really disappointed. I felt lots of pressure because I knew I'd have to wait four more years to put things right if I lost."
