Midfielder Roberto Acuna was again missing from Paraguay's training session on Thursday as he has not recovered from his knee injury.

The Real Zaragoza man trained separately alongside assistant coach Gabriel Macaya and could rejoin the squad later on Friday.

Coach Cesare Maldini had the bulk of his players involved in a secret practice session at the Gudeok training complex.

Maldini also had his squad watch a video of their first Group B opponents, South Africa.

"Every match is like a war, a unique objective," said the Italian.

"Sometimes you have to know your opponent very well. South Africa deserves all our respect.

"We don't want to skip any details. They've prepared well, they have experience and have improved a lot in defence."

After facing South Africa, Paraguay will play Spain and Slovenia.
