Germany defender Thomas Linke has decided to
quit international football following the World Cup.
The 32-year-old will play on for Bayern Munich but does not want the pressures
and demands of national team football.
"My son is eight months old," he said. "I think he needs me more at the
moment."
Linke won 41 caps, scoring once, and was an ever-present at the World Cup,
where Germany lost 2-0 in the final to Brazil.
