Former world heavyweight champion John Ruiz will appear on the undercard of David Haye's title challenge against current champ Nikolai Valuev.
British star Haye meets Valuev for the WBA crown on November 7 but before those two enter the ring, Ruiz - a former holder of that belt - will already have fought against Adnan Serin.
Ruiz, a possible next opponent for the winner of Valuev-Haye given his position as the WBA's 'official challenger', will take on the Turk (19-10-1), who is now fighting out of Aachen in Germany.
Despite being up against a local fighter, Ruiz (43-8-1) has no concerns.
"I'm always happy to go to Germany," Ruiz said. "The people there are great and they always treat me well.
"I'm really looking forward to this fight. I know no fight is easy and that I have to get past this one to get the winner of Valuev-Haye. That's why I'm focused 100 per cent on the November 7 fight.
"I know there's another world title fight in the horizon for me, but I have to ready for this fight and win to get the next one."
Ruiz has not fought since August 2008 - when he lost on points to Valuev - but insists he will be ready.
"It's been a while since I last fought because of some things that were out of my control," Ruiz added. "I'm ready and have been training for three months."
He is also pleased to get the chance to show his skills to the American public - the fight is being screened live on pay-per-view TV.
"My fans haven't been able to watch my last few fights.
"They think I still fight the same way (clutch-and-grab) because my fights haven't been shown on television back in the states. I'm much more aggressive and now they will all be able to see how much I've improved with their own eyes."
The Haye-Valuev fight is also live on pay-per-view in the UK, via Sky Box Office.
