Miguel Cotto is confident of shocking P4P king Manny Pacquaio when they clash in Las Vegas next month.
Cotto will start as the underdog when he defends his WBO welterweight crown against the Filipino superstar in the MGM Grand on November 14.
For the Puerto Rican it's a return to the same ring where he lost his unbeaten record to Antonio Margarito in July of last year.
Some experts believe the bloody beating Cotto suffered that night damaged Miguel for good. And he knows beating Pacquiao would be the perfect way to silence the doubters.
He told HBO's 24/7: "I know at the moment I have another opportunity to prove myself. I'm going to be the winner.
"He's just another boxer who comes to my division and challenge me for my title. The night of November 14 I'm going to be prepared for him, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to beat Manny Pacquiao."
The pain of that defeat by Margarito resurfaced in January of this year when the Mexican was discovered to be wearing illegal handwraps on the night of his bout with Shane Mosley.
Margarito was suspended and questions asked over whether he might have been using similar wraps when he bludgeoned Cotto.
Miguel Cotto Sr, the fighter's father, still has vivid memories of the pain his son went through after the defeat by Margarito.
"That was a very sad night for me. Miguel wasn't crying tears. The tears coming out of Miguel's eyes that night weren't normal. They were tears of blood.
"You had to see it, bleeding out of his nose, bleeding out of his ears. You had to see how deep his wounds were. It's impossible to explain. I couldn't explain how someone with gloves could do that."
