Former European champion Ian Napa won the British bantamweight title from Gary Davies at the Bolton Arena on Friday night.
Davies started well but Napa found his groove in the middle stages to seemingly dominate the champion, though he needed a majority decision to take the title.
Davies showed great spirit to remain in the contest after taking a real battering in the 11th from a Napa onslaught and from then on there was only going to be one winner.
The defending champion showed great spirit to survive an onslaught in the 11th but was visibly tiring by that stage and it was no surprise to see Napa win by a majority decision.
When asked if he was surprised by Davies' defensive tactics, Napa said: "People have to remember I'm a world class boxer".
