Nate Campbell will go "back to the drawing board" after his lightweight title bout with Joan Guzman was called off just four hours before it was scheduled to go ahead.
The duo were set to meet in Biloxi, Mississippi on Saturday night, with Campbell's WBA, WBO and IBF titles on the line.
But after Guzman had failed to make the weight on Friday, he then pulled out of a rearranged non-title bout at catchweight citing dehydration caused by attempting to get down to 135lb.
Campbell told Showtime: "I'm disappointed. I really trained hard for this fight. I wanted to fight. I'd have fought him at 30 pounds over.
"But I'm still world champion. I still have all my titles intact. I'll go back to the drawing board and train."
Turning his ire on Guzman, Campbell added: "He didn't want to fight."
Promoter Don King told Showtime: "I don't think Guzman should have pulled out of the fight. I think he should have fought over the weight."
