Donnelly was handed the 24-month ban after he produced a positive test for the stimulant benzoylecgonine, a metabolite of cocaine, on November 9 last year.
The 28-year-old was tested in the wake of his first round defeat by Paul Butler in their British super flyweight title clash at Liverpool's Olympia.
Donnelly was informed about his failed test and provisionally suspended from all competitions on November 27 last year.
The Liverpudlian verbally confirmed to the UK Anti-Doping agency earlier this month he accepted the charge and its consequences.
