Mike Tyson
Mike Tyson falls to the canvas.

Tyson v Douglas - Tokyo, 1990

Mike Tyson became the youngest ever world heavyweight champion when he beat Trevor Berbick to take the WBC title in November 1986.

He quickly added the WBA and IBF titles to be recognised as undisputed champion by August 1987.

Iron Mike looked invincible as he completed a further seven defences.

But he came unstuck through a combination of over-confidence and a lucky punch from the unknown James Buster Douglas in probably the biggest upset in world heavyweight history.

Tokyo witnessed an amazing shock as the unthinkable happened - Tyson hit the canvas and was out for the count.

The bloated Douglas soon returned to obscurity when he was beaten in his first title defence against Evander Holyfield later that year in Las Vegas.
