The William Hill odds suggest that India got the better of England on day one of the final Test in Nagpur but only just.

India are on offer at 11/10 and England trade at 9/4 after the tourists closed the day on 199-5 having been 16-2 at an early stage in proceedings.

Jonathan Trott (44) and Kevin Pietersen (73) rescued the situation for England while there was good late work from Matt Prior (34) and Joe Root (31), who were both unbeaten at stumps.

William Hill offer 17/20 that England post 328 or more runs and Monty Panesar (13/8) is now the clear favourite to deliver the most wickets for England in India's first Innings.

"After a terrible start England recovered well and they are still very much in this but they need a big stand from Matt Prior and Joe Root!" said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.
