Jose Mourinho's team stunned Everton in a 6-3 thriller at Goodison Park just hours after Stoke City sensationally beat Manchester City 1-0 at the Etihad.

We may only be three games into the season but already the bookies are running for cover following Chelsea's fast start, with the Blues 4/5 and 5/6 generally.

Manchester City are out to 11/4 with bet365, Coral and William Hill after Mame Biram Diouf's stunning solo effort sealed the three points for Mark Hughes' men.

It leaves City three points behind Chelsea heading into the international break, but we don't have to wait long until the two market leaders clash in the Premier League with City hosting Chelsea on September 21.

Diego Costa, who scored twice in Chelsea's rout at Goodison, has been trimmed to a general 9/4 chance for the Golden Boot.

Away from the title race, Manchester United were held in the early kick-off at Burnley 0-0 and have been eased to 11/10 generally for a top-four finish.

As Louis Van Gaal's wait for a win goes on, his odds of being in charge come the final game of the season have been slashed from an original 16/1 to just 10/3 by William Hill.

Arsenal play on Sunday at Leicester and have been clipped to 8/1 from 9/1 by BetVictor for the title while Liverpool are 14/1 (were 16s) with the same firm ahead of a trip to Tottenham.

At the other end of the table Burnley's draw plus a point for Crystal Palace and a win for QPR have seen that trio eased for relegation.

The Clarets are still odds-on at 8/15 with bet365 while Palace under new boss Neil Warnock are 11/8 - QPR can be backed at 13/8.

West Brom were beaten 3-0 at Swansea and are now 2/1 from 5/2 for the drop while defeats for Sunderland and West Ham see them both clipped into 9/2 by bet365.
