Australia strolled to an effortless success in the Dubai Irish Derby at the Curragh and BetVictor cut the Ballydoyle colt to 3/1 (from 7/2) for the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp.

Joseph O'Brien's mount was sent off the 1/8 favourite and never looked in any danger as he sauntered to victory and followed up his success earlier in the month in the Epsom equivalent.

William Hill have Australia at the head of the Arc betting at 4/1 while stablemate and runner-up Kingfisher has been installed at 16/1 in their St Leger market.

Hills spokesman Jon-Ivan Duke said: "Australia is a worthy favourite for the Arc after easily dismantling the opposition at the Curragh to add to his Epsom romp.

"With question marks over Treve, Australia is now the one to beat."

Australia remains 5/1 with Betfred for both the Arc and the St Leger.

Kool Kompany bounced back from his disappointment at Royal Ascot to win the Railways Stakes at the Curragh and BetVictor make Richard Hannon’s colt 25/1 (first show) for next year’s 2000 Guineas at Newmarket.
