The 29-year-old dominated the US Open at Pinehurst from start to finish, a closing par enough for an eight-shot win over Rickie Fowler and Erik Compton and one that adds to his collection of top-class titles.
Kaymer had been 100/1 for the tournament earlier this season but was slashed to 40/1 by the off having returning to form to land the Players Championship at Sawgrass, and he looks set to go off half that price again for the Open at Hoylake.
Stan James currently make the German a standout 20/1 chance to win his third major next month, with 18/1 generally quoted. That puts him behind 11/1 joint-favourites Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods with Adam Scott just a shade shorter at 16/1.
However, Woods' participation remains in some doubt after he underwent surgery on his back and Kaymer's next appearance will be in the BMW International Open in Germany, an event he's likely to start favourite for. Were he to win that event, it's possible he could even start as favourite for the Open Championship.
Kaymer has also been cut to a best of 28/1 (Coral) for the US PGA, while he's 5/2 second-favourite for a second Race To Dubai title with bet365, behind 6/4 favourite Rory McIlroy.
