Racing: Tip of the day

Dave Ord is hoping today is finally the day Time And Place puts it all together.

Richard Fahey: Has plenty of faith in Time And Place
Richard Fahey: Has plenty of faith in Time And Place

My regular reader, Steve in Coventry, knows I'm a loyal man, almost to fault.

Go on how many people still follow Marcus Tregoning's horses religiously? Turn up at the Rapid Solicitor’s Stadium week in week out convinced the Wildcats’ revival is around the corner? Thinks there’s green shoots of recovery with every change of ownership at Leeds United?

No the lot of the optimist is not an easy one. But Time And Place could finally reward my blind faith in the Incognito's Dressy Dames Handicap at Doncaster (2005BST).

Long held in high regard by the Richard Fahey team it’s fair to say he’s been an under achiever but they retain the faith – and so should we.

There were certainly signs of encouragement on his reappearance at Doncaster when things went wrong at the start – and then at the finish. He’s better than that – and potentially very leniently treated.

He’s going to put it together one day and with the ground and flat track here looking ideal here, there’s no reason why it can’t be today.

Run With Pride lacks experience and looks a vulnerable favourite so at 12/1 Time And Place makes plenty of each-way appeal to pay for one of the bottles of Dos Equis at tonight’s barbeque. And to think the neighbours think I'm not invited.
