DOUBLE: Mattmu and Stanarley Pic.

Alan Swinbank and Ben Curtis teamed up for a four-timer at Thirsk on Saturday and hold strong claims of another good day in Yorkshire with Stanarley Pic at Beverley.

Having shared the Irish apprentice jockey title with Joseph O'Brien and Gary Carroll in 2010, Curtis' career failed to really take off.

However, since moving over to England and settling down with Swinbank the youngster once more seems to be heading in the right direction.

Stanarley Pic has had three runs in his life and shaped with some promise on all.

His debut saw him finish sixth behind Marco Botti's Lat Hawill, he then put in his best display when third over a mile and was a beaten favourite on his return to action this season.

That was over seven furlongs, though, and he can only improve for stepping back up in trip on the Westwood.

His opening handicap mark of 68 might not leave him too much room for error but plenty in his family stayed 10 furlongs and further so this near-10-furlong trip could bring about a great deal of improvement.

Stanarley Pic has more scope than most in the Colin Heppel - The Gambler Memorial handicap to improve.

Micky Hammond has his string in good form at present and everything is in place for Correggio to run another big race in the Happy Birthday Graham Roberts Handicap.

A winner at Pontefract on his first outing of the season, he showed his versatility as despite having won over 10 furlongs last year he had enough pace to win over a mile.

He faces an extended mile this time so there is no question about the trip and the handicapper appears to have given him a chance by putting him up only 3lb.

By getting on top close home he appeared to win with a bit in his sleeve and Hammond feels there is more to come.

Tim Easterby's Mattmu looked a surefire future winner when second on his debut and unless there is an above-average recruit among the newcomers in the Racing UK On Channel 432 Maiden Stakes he should take the beating.

The Indesatchel colt beat all bar Sea Wolf at Doncaster last month with the 20-1 chance beaten just a head.

A half-brother to the decent Penny Garcia who won twice as a juvenile, Mattmu's experience can prove decisive.

Donald McCain's Zip Wire is the pick in the Paxtons & Peregrine Finance Best Rates Novices' Hurdle at Sedgefield.

Allthekingshorses should go close for Philip Hobbs in the Piper Heidsieck Novices' Chase at Wincanton while at Ffos Las, Zama Zama could return to winning ways in the 32Red Casino Handicap Chase.

There's also jumping at Southwell where Elsafeer can strike in the Bet totequadpot Novices' Limited Handicap Chase.
