Next weekend's totescoop6 is set to offer record prize pools after the bet once again proved too hard to win on Saturday.

The total amount in the pools went over the £3million mark on Saturday, only for the results to prove so tough to call that all remaining tickets and hopes had been extinguished after just four legs.

With £1,528,248 up for grabs in the win fund, many units were taken out in Saturday's first race as 16/1 shot No Planning came home in front, leaving just 12,851 units standing.

1,948 tickets survived after leg two but only 112 were left after the third race.

They all went by the wayside when Streams Of Whiskey was an 18/1 winner of the inapproriately-named ToteScoop6 Millionaire Maker Handicap Chase at Haydock.

That made a mockery of the 4/6 that Tote owners Betfred had offered about the win fund being claimed this weekend.

totepool spokesman Mark Pearson said: "Turnover was massive at £1,585,098 and next weekend the combined win and bonus funds will go over £4million. We could even end up with record combined funds which was in November 2008 when it hit £4.5million. The Scoop6 has once again caught the public's imagination."

This week's rollover is the fourth biggest in the bet's history, with combined funds of £3,061,776.

A total £1,585,098 was bet into the pools today and there were 536 winners of the place fund who each won £591.40.

The bonus fund now stands at £1,533,528 having not been won since last August.
